5×5 with Debbie: Boxing and Bamboo Baskets
Debbie is a prominent Affiliate Manager from ClickDealer’s Shanghai office and today she is giving us the lowdown on her background and hobbies.
1. Describe yourself in three words.
Libra, sardonic, energetic.
2. What do you love most about your position?
I love to work with friends from all over the world with different backgrounds and cultures. I feel a sense of achievement witnessing publishers’ growth in both professional and personal fields. I feel excited and slightly intimidated with fast changes in the affiliate marketing industry, but it is always a pleasure to learn about new stuff with and from all my co-workers and partners.
3. What is your favorite pastime?
I greatly enjoy mountain climbing. My dream is to climb all the famous mountains in the world. The sense of achievement you experience on top of the mountain after the laborious struggle getting there is indescribable. Boxing is another hobby I picked up after getting robbed in 2015. The question “what if I could fight back” kept lingering in my mind, so I signed up for boxing class and it stuck with me ever since. Coffee and alcohol are both great to pass the time, except for coffee-flavored liquor. That doesn’t sit right with me at all.
4. What makes an ideal vacation for you?
There are two types of vacations for me: adventurous and relaxing. It’s either lying on the beach drinking cocktails the whole afternoon, or tasting all the local food and drinks, fully immersed in the local culture. It mostly depends on the location, but either way you got to commit till the end.
5. What are your top 5 songs and movies?
Songs:
Cheap Hotel – Leon Else
Shape of My Heart – Theory of a Deadman
Mad World – Adam Lambert
Dangerous – David Guetta/Sam Martin
Feels – Calvin Harris/Pharrell Williams
Movies:
Leon The Professional
The Prestige
The Dead End
Doctor Strange
Vicky Cristina Barcelona
Now it’s time for some offbeat facts from Debbie’s day-to-day:
– Orange is my favorite fruit, but I hate the color orange.
– I’m planning to get a cat and name it “Doggy” to see if it confuses the cat.
– Some of my affiliates call me bro and I don’t know why.
– Weaving bamboo basket calms me down. Something about the process makes me relax and focus 100%.
– My grandpa used to be a soldier, and he has lots of amazing stories from his time in service. I’ve heard most of them since I was young, which motivated me to apply for National Defence University, but in the end I didn’t get in because of the height requirement.
