5×5 with Lin: Flights and Felines
Lin represents ClickDealer’s Canadian AM team and today she is joining us to share a few things that make her the amazing manager that she is.
1. Describe yourself in three words.
Critical, attentive, independent.
2. What do you love most about your position?
Time flexibility is really important to me, because fixed hours are really restrictive and limiting to my workflow. I value the relative autonomy of my position for the same reason – my managing style needs a little breathing room for improvisation, and I’m free to plan my day in accordance with my most productive hours. The bottom line is – our company cares about the bottom line, and this performance-driven mindset creates both the freedom and the challenge of the position, a perfect combo for someone like me. The cultural diversity and different points of view I’m faced with daily also make each workday fulfilling and interesting.
3. What is your favorite pastime?
I try to fill my free time with mellow and relaxing activities. Going out to a small coffee shop with my friends to just sit down with a hot brew and chat for a while is perfect. Hanging out at home with my cats or doing a 3-hour spa – you get the idea. If the weather is nice I can just take off on a walk around the neighborhood and soak in the scenery.
4. What makes an ideal vacation for you?
My main preference is the right company. Anything can be fun when you’re doing it with the people you love and care about. Obviously, I’d prefer a nice evening at a cocktail lounge to base jumping, but both could be amazing as long as the right people are by my side.

Here’s a choice pick of interesting facts about Lin’s jet set life:
– I’d been working as a flight attendant for 3 years and quit the job 1 month before getting promoted to cabin manager. I was assigned to fly VIP exclusively for 1 year.

– I have the 2 most adorable cats in the world. One is a female black street cat that I adopted after visiting several times and the other one is a male exotic shorthair. I bought him from a pet store, and I will never forget the helpless look on his face the day I met him. Their longest trip was a flight with me from China to Canada.
The culprits.
– I went to a bakery class for months and learned to make bread, cake and macaroons.
– I went to university twice, one was in Xi’an China when I was 18, and the other one was in Waterloo, Canada when I was 26.
– I don’t enjoy eating meat, even though I’m not a vegetarian. Wonder what’s the term for that.
